Personality and Career Assessment

Personality and Career Assessment

NCAA legislation dictates that a student must complete a significant amount of credits towards a chosen degree very early in their academic career.  For the athletic department, the rule presents the unique challenge of working with each student-athlete to declare a major early on in his or her college career. For the student-athlete, this requires a good deal of inward reflection. Chances are, the majority of young student-athletes have not thought past freshman year. So, how is this issue solved?

Partnering with the world’s leading providers of personality, behavioral and career-based assessments, Game Theory Group has developed user-friendly tools to help both student-athletes follow their passions and athletic advisors keep them on the right path. Game Theory’s methodology relative to academic and career planning is rooted in identifying and following an individual’s strengths; using his or her natural traits to determine the area of study for which he or she would be best suited.

Assessments Available in Game Plan

These assessments provide the most valid and revealing points, which guide the student-athlete and their advisors to pinpoint key interests and personality traits. By aligning a student’s strengths and interests, the student-athlete will have a better sense of self and will find it easier to choose classes as well as a major. Game Plan enables the advisors to pick and choose the appropriate assessment tools for their student-athlete, taking into account the individual, their stage of development and future opportunities.
